We bid farewell to Doolin village this morning after making one final stop at the Clare Jam Shop. We first tried Clare jam at the Roadford house for breakfast and discovered it’s exceptionally delicious.
Brandt’s getting very comfortable driving on the left side of the road—so much so that he thinks he’ll have to be careful not to continue the habit when returning home.
On the way north up to Clifden we stopped in the village of Athenry to visit a restored castle tower built by the Normans in the 11th century to ward off the ‘barbaric Irish.’
