Lime Kiln Hike

Brandt and I went on our first hike of the year over Memorial Day weekend. We walked the Lime Kiln trail near Granite Falls. What was interesting about this hike was that the park services had left mining artifacts skattered along the trail for you to enjoy as you walked.

After reaching the Lime Kiln, the trail continued for another half mile or so where it ended at a river bank--a great spot to stop for lunch. In total the hike was approximately 7 miles, however, Brandt and I learned importance of accurately reading trail signs--a mistake that cost us an extra 2.5 miles or so. Overall we had a great time and we are already looking forward to our next hike.
